Hi guys!

I've been searching the net for answers but haven't found any useful one yet. My problem is a little confusing.

The problem is that in my house i have one DSL entry connected to a router/modem (a Speedtouch 585v2) which functions kinda as the main router also with a wireless net (let's call it "net 1"). Before, In the room next door (my room), i had a second router (the linksys one) which pulled the connection from the other room by an ethernet cable but also my older brother (who lived in that room before i moved in) had configured it to have its own wireless net ("net 2", don't know how he do it).

One day, don't know why, my router disconfigured and the "net 2" was passwordless so i intended to configure it but couldn't enter the router's web interface so i reseted it. After that, i thought i could enter the linksys's web interface but after putting the typical 192.168.1.1 to access the routers interface, it only brought me to the main router's interface (the Speedtouch one) and in the config network options the "net 2" wasn't detected it. So google-searching the net i read that could be another the default ip direction for the linksys web interface but none of the proposed ones worked for me. So i've just had to disconnect the linksys router and now the "net 1" signal is to weak in my room so i've been having problems with my PS3 and laptop connection.

My older brother told me that i could use the linksys router as an access point rather than creating another wireless network (the "net 2" one), so it would just amplify "net 1" signal in my room, but to do that i have to enter the linksys web interface and i haven't been able to enter it.

Does anyone knows hot to fix that or knows info that could help me? I really need help with this and haven't been able to found a solution in my search.

Thanks for the time, guys!

Solution
Take the router and disconnect it from your network and cable it to your PC directly. You should now be able to follow the instructions in the manual to configure it any way you like. If the router has a option to run as a AP follow those instructions if not then follow the steps in the sticky on this forum.
