I'd like some opinions on this issue:
Machine: hp dv7-4173us stock hardware.
OS: windows 7 peep 64 bit.
Issue:
Press power button, hear fans for two seconds, caps lock light blinks once, then all goes quiet withe caps lock light blinking slowly ( 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off).
Tried:
Power reset (remove power cord and battery, press and hold power button for one minute, connect power cord only, power up). No change.
Pulled, checked, reseated both hard drives, dvd drive, both memory cards, WiFi card, and cmos battery. No change.
Disassembled machine, disconnected everything, checked for broken, burnt, bent, found no issues. Cleaned up thermal paste on CPU, reseated and reassembled machine. No change.

I suspect the CPU needs to be replaced.
Primary hard drive works fine in an enclosure, and I get no change if I boot the machine with the CPU unseated.
