hello,

is DDR2 512 MB PC2-4200, 533 MHz, 267 MHz (Clock) currently installed in motherboard compatible with new DDR2 2GB PC2-6400, 800 MHz.

Question:

1. can they be mix together?
2. can PC2-6400 work in this motherboard?

What motherboard do you have?

The recommendable process for install new RAM is that you install a new kit with the same specs of the current one, that's PC2-4200 533MHz. Any way, you can install that PC2-6400 kit 800MHz but 1st you need to check if that RAM is supported by your mohetboard and 2nd, you need to keep in mind that even if the new kit is a 800MHz kit, this only can run at the lowest speed of your RAM that's 533MHz.

Remember also that you can have some compatibility problems for install PC2-4200 and PC2-6400 at the same time.
