I really want a low priced 4k monitor that's got the capabilities of a gaming monitor?
If ever possible the monitor to have a, Display port?

I'm looking for a monitor that's got a diagonal size of minimum: 27"
I would like, if ever possible to aim for a 40" screen? 50" and up is would be nice also.

I am intending to use it for Graphics design and 3D animation. I want the 4k resolution because I get more screen room.

Looking for the price range to be within $0 - $10k
Now if you could find one that costs around $1k That would be great!

Thanks.

Seiki has a 50" 4k monitor for $1k, and a 39" unit for $700.
I have seen the 50" at compusa, and the display is stunning.

The main drawback for a gamer is that the hdmi interface limits you to 30hz at full 4k resolution.
It will do 120hz at 1080P.

For general work, 30hz is fine, and the large amount of screen real estate is impressive.

If they can develop a unit with a displayport interface, current high end graphics cards will be able to drive them at 60hz.

There is an asus 27" 4k monitor that will do 60hz in a two hcmi connection scheme. It is expensive.

Any news of a better performing 4k monitor would be of interest to me.

don't jump in yet in the 4k bandwagon. give it 6 months or so for the prices to begin to drop as the tech matures and more manufacturers enter the fray. stick with your current 1080p/1440p monitor. no need to rush buddy.

Yeah, I was doing some research.. better to wait.. ON EVERYTHING. This transition into 4k is a big one.

Yes. I'll just intend in on waiting. Better to wait then buy a 4k screen with a new GPU for this build I'm intending to do.
There'll be better stuff to come.

i'd wait till a reasonably priced, g-sync capable 4k monitor becomes available. a lot of tech sites are saying its quite a revolution/revelation in gaming. some even swears its the fabled holy grail of pc gaming. i'm usually skeptic when people uses overly acted hyperbole but i have to admit that i'm really curious about that tech.
