Hi everyone.

This is the 2nd time when I give my SSD drive for repair. Earlier serive exchanged Vector for new one without cause of malfunction. It's been literally 1.5 months time when the fault occurred again. Once again, in the same way the drive stops working.
First, the system starts to throw errors, and after restarting the system BIOS no longer recognizes the drive. The unit is completely dead..

What is going on with this drives ?

ocz makes great drives but there are allot of drives that are tested by the manufacture and perform good, but after a month or 2,3; They die. Try to go for other brands, in pc world, never give something a 3th chance. When I buy an ssd like from samsung and it dies, I go search for other brands ( this don't happened). Intel have good ssd's and samsung. Try to find an ssd that is perfect for you and don't look to the price but to the quality.

Incredible speed offered by Vector decided to buy this SSD drive.
Show me an SSD which equals Vector's performance on the new firmware.

Thanks.

I am on my 3rd replacement OCZ vector also. The new one I bought died, just quit working after 3 months, 5 year warranty.
OCZ sent me a refurbished unit as a replacement for my new one, the refurbish unit only had a 1 year warranty.
It died after 3 months. I am currently sending it back under warranty.
Look like they just decided to lose my other 4 years warranty on the original new one.
I have been working with computers since 1984 and I think the OCZ Vector is a bad product scam, from a bad company.

I would go for Intel since they are the most reliable drives on the market and are pretty fast, you wouldn't see that difference between an OCZ drive and any other SSD.

Hi syngres
That particular SSD , the OCZ Vector 128GB has a bad failure rate , if you do a google search you will see what i mean
for performance and reliability i would go with the samsung evo 120GB

If you want an ssd that will equal the Vector

OCZ Vector 128GB
Read Speed up to 550MB/s
Write speed up to 400MB/s

Mushkin Chronos deluxe
Read Speed: up to 560MB/sec
Write Speed: up to 515MB/sec

and a good price
