Hell everyone,

I'm currently trying to build a HTPC which have the following problem:

- When setting the processor (FM2 sckt / AM2 A8-5600K) with the stock cooler, the fan only have a 2 millimeters space to the PSU. Due to this, the fan makes a horrible noise and probably fails at removing heat. If i remove the PSU from the case (to outside), the system works fine.

The total height of the stock cooler is ~5,5cm, so my question is:
- How much space (vertical, on cm), does it needs to stay silent (assuming it's a silent fan), and work properly, successfully removing heat ?

Are 1 or 2 cm enough?
/cheers

You probably want about 3-4 cm for there to really be any airflow.
