I want your help in order to primarily choose between these 2 CPUs.
I currently have a phenom II 720 2.8Ghz with an AMD HD 4670.
I need to buy only motherboard, CPU and GPU as i will use the rest of the components from my old setup.
I need to choose between the following 2 systems. For your information i will buy the items from amazon.co.uk.
CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1230 v2
Motheroard: AsRock B75 pro3-m
VGA: Gigabyte GTX 660 2GB
or
CPU: Intel core i5-4570
Motherboard: Asus B85M-E
VGA: Gigabyte GTX 660 2GB
On amazon UK the price of Xeon is currently GBP176.72 and the price of i5 is GBP149.9. I was initially planning to purchase the i5 however i then discovered that the price of xeon is quite good considering that it's quad core hyper threading cpu.
Should i go for the xeon or the i5. I don't want to overclock. I will mainly use the pc for gaming (BF4, Starcraft 2) and light image and video editing. I heard that the xeon is an i7 without a gpu. Is that true?
