Hello I recentely bought a refurbished core 2 duo PC and added a new GT 630 graphics card to it. The text started having bad quality. Not sure if this problem is there with the integrated card, or if its card related at all, but the text looks a bit washed out and the edges are blurry. I tried cleartype, and making my monitor auto detect everything, i tried unchecking many of the performance and display choices, but the text is still fuzzy.

Also, im using the normal monitor cable on a 1280x720 (1280x something not sure)
Is the use of this card on such monitor causing the blurriness problems?
Or is my GPU the problem

Also my drivers are up to date.

You dont sound very sure about anything. And its pretty important.
Check your Monitor native resolution.. and set your graphics card to that. Make sure you using digital cable.

Once you got all that sorted.. if still an issue, come back and ask again with the details.

Cheers

My native resoloution is correct i checked from the nvidia control panel and the windows resoloution options. (Unless that is not the way) err and the cable im using the standard VGA cable the one with the pins, i do not remmember ever having problems with it.

VGA is not digital - and will tend to result in less distinct picture (especially noticeable for text).. don't know why you didn't notice it before.. may be new card is more sensitive to it.. but use a digital cable (DVI of HDMI for example) and you should see a noticeable improvement. This assumes your monitor supports Digital.
I notice a massive difference when I connect my PCs by VGA Vs DVI.

Cheers

I run multiple monitors and have seen the quality on my VGA screen vary greatly with each GPU update. I finally got a driver that made it nearly as crisp as my DisplayPort screen. Then, I recently updated to the latest (Intel HD 3000) and boom, blurry text is back.

I wouldn't be so quick to tell this person they just didn't notice it to begin with. I recommend trying earlier versions of the driver for your GPU. You SHOULDN'T notice a MASSIVE difference between digital and VGA. If you do, I suspect GPU drivers.

Im not going to pick holes with most of your points.. its not worth it.
But I will pick up on " You SHOULDN'T notice a MASSIVE difference between digital and VGA. If you do, I suspect GPU drivers."... Its a personal thing.. What I call a "massive" difference. (it is.. to my eyes its a massive difference) . my wife does not notice. (which is why I use the DVI input and she uses VGA on a shared monitor for one of my machines.).

Having said that.. and updated graphics drivers on MANY machines. connected to MANY different monitors, both VGA and DVI. I can safely say I have never seen a driver update make 10% as much difference as moving from VGA to DVI (once I have done the basic VGA alignment).

Cheers
