I've built this rig for a year now, with not many problems since then. A couple of weeks ago my pc wouldn't boot, it would turn on the LEDs and fans briefly(1sec), and then shut down, but the motherboard LED would still be on.

I searched online for solutions and tried clearing the CMOS through the jumpers, it worked. Today the same thing happened, except that clearing the CMOS was of no help. I am thinking about replacing the cmos battery, how can i access it? What is the model of the battery? Any other idea of what is causing the computer to not boot up? Thanks in advance.

obs: I havent overclocked the cpu nor the GPU.
the computer stays plugged in overnight.

Specs:
Asus sabertooth Z77 motherboard
intel i7 3770k @3.5GHz
750w full modular Ultra PSU
4x4GB corsair vengeance(1600Mhz)
Asus gtx 770
2 2TB HD
1 240GB SSD

I have that motherboard. look to see if the cpu fault led light is on or the ram fault led. if the cpu fault led is on the power supply may not be outputting the right voltage. if the ram led is on hard. try using one stick of ram. did you update the mb bios to fix issues with some video cards and posts?? if not use the usb flashback port and put the newest bios on it. I dont think your cmos battery is the issues..i would try a new power supply first.

Tried resetting the CMOS after letting the computer unplugged for an hour or so, thankfully it worked.

I just hope it doesnt repeat, at least too often, as this is the second time it happens. Thank you guys for the replies. Gonna start preparing myself for some component replacements in the near future.
