Hello so i have finnaly decided to get the fx-8350 after many posts here about the i5-4670k so i will not go intel for now as i have the whole system already and a motherboard that supports the fx-8350 already.

And i will most likley be much happier with the fx-8350 as it can provide 60+ fps in almost all games so it would been a "waste" going intel for me.

So my question is, how good is the thermalpaste that comes with the fx-8350?

I know there is not much difference between the thermalpastes but would it be worth getting like a Arctic Cooling MX-4? instead of the normal that follows?

Spec:

cpu: amd fx-4100 OC 4,2 Ghz
mobo: asus m5a99x evo
ram: kingston 16gb 1333 mhz 4x4 gb sticks
gpu: Gigabyte radeon HD 7970 oc 1000 mhz
storage: 120 gb ssd 60x2 ocz and 1tb normal hdd
cooler: antec kuhler 620
case: fractal design core 3000
psu: 730w thermaltake SP-730AH2NH
optical drive: LG bluray station
fan controller: Lamptron Fan Controller FC5 V2

I use Arctic Silver 5 on my 8350, and it works great. I never used the stock cooler, so I can't say whether the thermal paste on it is any good, but I know the Arctic Silver is amazing and keeps my temps very low; I've used it on several CPUs over the years, and never had any problems with it even with stock coolers.

it barely does the job for stock speeds but when overclocking it is horrible, I would recommend getting arctic silver and a better heat sync fan like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

As you can see in my spec i already have a cooler i wont be using the stock one. So i should get artic silver 5 or the Arctic Cooling MX-4 wich one would you prefere i know that the artic silver 5 is much used but so does the Arctic Cooling MX-4 both have good reviews and god peformances in the latest tomshardware thermalpaste thread

I don't have any experience with the MX-4, but the Arctic Silver 5 works great on my system. After re-reading your original post, I see that you have the Antec Kuhler H2O 620; I have the 920 version (adds 1 fan to the radiator), and between that and the Arctic Silver 5, my CPU barely passes 35C while at full load and overclocked to 4.2GHz.

The paste is already applied to the stock cooler, it doesn't come with a tube.

I'm going to try to make this simple for you, but please let me know if you still miss the point...the Antec Kuhler H2O 620 cooler that is going to be used for the new CPU is not the stock cooler. As it has been used previously on a different CPU, the paste that came pre-applied to it must be replaced. The OP is asking what paste is recommended for use with an FX-8350 and the Antec cooler which is going to be installed on the new CPU. The recommendations thus far are Arctic Silver 5 and Arctic Cooling MX-4. The OP did not ask for recommendations on a different cooler, nor did they ask IF they needed thermal paste, only WHICH thermal paste to use. If you would like to recommend one of those 2 thermal pastes over the other, and have supporting evidence as to why, or have a different recommendation for thermal paste altogether, please feel free to state that now.
