I have a 50 inch tv that I want to hook this up to via HDMI.
I also have a surround sound system.

Will the following build display on the TV ok.
Will the sound output via HDMI in 5.1 surround sound?
Am I missing components? Like a fan?

I have built one pc from scratch in the past.
Gaming pc.

Cheaper processor. The only difference between the i5-4430 and i5-4570 is the 200mhz difference, which is nothing.
Cheaper RAM.
Stronger gpu at the same price. Yes, Powercolor isn't the best brand. However, it's only $250 for a 7970. You'll have to pay another $20-30 for a better brand. Powercolor is disliked because their cooling isn't the best but I can assure you, it's at least on par with the MSI single fan cooling you listed.
Cheaper wifi. Still the same 802.11b/g/n.
Upgraded the case.
Smaller psu. There's no need for over 550w for this build since you're not overclocking/crossfire. Still very high quality and it's at a great price.

actually his ram is better because its ddr3 1866 which is the best kind.

In games, there's no real difference from ram speed. RAM rated at DDR3-2400mhz will give very little performance increase in games over DDR3-1600mhz, but there is a price difference. It's not worth the extra money unless the OP was planning to do actual work like rendering.
