I'm trying to reinstall windows xp pro on my Dell Laptop. I have the CD but no product key. There's a product key on the bottom of the computer but it doesn't work. The CD is the original that came with the computer. Does anyone know how to install this? Also I have to use CD cause I can't get online right noiw
1) Consumer support for XP stopped 2 years ago
2) Corporate support for XP stops next year (i.e. you have to PAY for support issues)
3) If the laptop is that old it is NO LONGER SUPPORTED freely by Dell
4) If you can not get 'online' then your 'key on the bottom of the computer' nor ANY key will not 'work' until you register ONLINE
5) If your key 'on the bottom of the computer' is the original one from Dell it will work, but again see above.
6) EASIEST solution, go to walmart, get the $249 laptop, faster, bigger, and under WARRANTY then that old Dell for least expense.
7) NO YOU CAN NOT ASK FOR A PRODUCT KEY THAT IS STEALING!
