Im Replacing the 120gb SSD With a new 256 and I would like to do a Fresh Windows install. I currently am running 3, 1tb drives in raid 5 for storage on the E Drive. I remember having to choose the raid 5 setup when I built the system 3 years ago.
Should I unplug these drives until the system is up and running or if I leave them plugged in will windows try to reformat them?
I don't want to lose the info on them.

Thanks

Windows wont try to reformat the raid drives but might try to write boot/recovery/system data on them and leave you with an unbootable system should the array become non-functional.

ps - you do have the important data on this array backed up, right?

I do have the Important information backed up on a terra station I own. I just recieved my new 256gb 840 pro today so I will play with it this weekend. So I will unplug the storage drives just to be safe. I will update how it went when I am done.

Thanks
