NewEgg has this deal for this memory at $59.49 after the discount. I was just wondering if it was worth it because I've read some reviews about NewEggs returns being annoying to deal with and I would rather pay a little extra for easier returns or replacement.

You shouldn't mix memory, but as long as the voltages and timings are close, you can probably get away with it.

Had to zoom in on the picture to find the voltage on the Kingston, 1.5V for both. You should be able to run that G.Skill memory at CAS 10. If it is the same memory I have, would really have to dig for that, I think it has several profiles to pick from.

All else fails you can tune them both manually at the Kingston values.
I think that is a pretty good deal. I've got a few systems running with G-skill sniper series memory. No reliability issues whatsoever. Boot up, change memory setting in bios to XMP and away you go. Depending on what CPU heatsink/fan combination you have (if you don't have a liquid cooling setup), make sure your heatsink can clear the memory heat spreaders (need minimum of 42mm clearance if your heatsink overhangs the memory DIMM slots at all.

I haven't had any issues with Newegg RMA's. Once the 30 day Newegg period runs out, it would depend how good G.Skills RMA process was, but I've heard it's pretty good on the rare occasion you need to return something to them.

I'd say so. I have kingston hyperx with cas latency 10 and they are pretty fast.. If you look at bench marks of ram there is not much of a difference as far as realistic speeds between 1333/1600/2400 unless of course you create a ram disk then you will see a huge difference in mbps read/write between different ones. And if your worried of getting a lemon and needing to rma, typically you will reads a lot of reviews of people need to have it replaced only because it is a popular item! so I'd say go for it.. great deal atm.

I also noticed this sale and was curious if anyone knows if you can mix the G.skill Sniper (cas 9) with hyperx black (cas 10)

Thanks Eximo! I wish I could have got two sets at this price because the hyperx is a little short the cost for one set that two could be had. Only reason I want the 16g of ram now as opposed to 8g is to play around with ramdisk. I think there is a lot of possibilities with that software to speed up certain applications. Also been working on a diy oculus rift utilizing an htc one x and streaming applications, where the phone is put in a mount and worn like a mask and then content is streamed through wifi to the phone. I had some trouble to begin with macroblocking and what not do to streaming speeds but when I used usb transport and ramdisk it solved the problem in 5 minutes worth of playing with that software.. so, definitely a lot of potential there with software and extra ram.
