Questions on the GTX 760...

Hello all,
I have been shopping for a graphics card recently. I have found what seems to be the best card for the price ($250), the GTX 760.
Here is the link to the specific one I was looking at:

-Is there a better model, or is this the best one?
-Are there better cards than this, in the same price range?
-Will I be able to max out games like Skyrim and BF3 on ultra in 1080p, with playable FPS?
-Do you recommend me buying this?
I was also looking at the MSI R9 280x

1. That's the best 760 on the market (I have the exact same one).
2. It will max the games you want to play.
3. I would highly recommend getting it.
4. The 280x is better but is just a re-branded 7970 ghz with a slight boost (no new tech there). Is it worth it? Yes, I would personally rather spend $40 extra for the extra performance - Here's a comparison of the two http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/768?vs=854

Ill let the pros answer the rest of your questions...but I run a Radeon 6950 that is over 2 years old, and I run BF3 on Ultra with no problems at all. Same with Skyrim until I added some lighting mods. So without a doubt the 760 will run them

Yeah, now I am considering the 280x over the 760. People are also saying that 3gb vram is going to become an advantage in games like bf4. Is this true? Which will be more future proof?

The 280x will be more future proof. Also, the only advantage of 3gb vram is that it will perform better in higher resolutions 1440p+ (no performance difference 2gb vs 3gb).

OK, cool. Now, I am considering getting a $150-$200 graphics card. My plan would be to use this for a year or two, while I build up enough money to get an amazing graphics card for like $500. Would this be a decent idea?

The 7950 is the better option of the two.
