I was wondering if anybody knew a good build for 1440p that can play most games at max/high settings.

Go with either an i5 3570k or 4670k and depending on budget crossfire 7970/280x, SLI GTX 770s, a single 290x, single GTX 780, or possibly SLI GTX 780, or crossfire 290x.

They just dropped the price of the 780 to $499 so you would want to update the price in your build.
