Dear fellow geeks,

My PC setup:
Intel Core i5 4670K Haswell @ 3.40GHz
ASRock Z87 Extreme4
Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 (768Mb)
4 x 2Gb DRR3 1333mhz
Samsung 500Gb 7200RPM 16Mb Cache HDD
DVD-RW
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W

Will I be able to run a R9 280x with this power supply? Or will I have to stick to buying a GTX 760 (2Gb)? I tried many PSU Calculators and some say it will be below 600W with the R9 280x and some say it will be above. It seems like I will have to buy the GTX 760 if I don't want to buy another PSU as well, right?

Solution
Well, I would not get a new GPU in that case. The ModXStream series from OCZ is pretty poor quality and if it were to fail, it could easily ruin all of your other components and render them useless.

Technically you can run a 760 or r9 280x but do not be surprised if that PSU causes unexpected shutdowns or crashes.

The PSU is 1000% the most important part of a PC.
