What are the best gaming CPU's

If money wasn't involved. Give me a list of the best CPU's for gaming. Then tell me why.

I7 4930k because it's really good for gaming, but also has 6 cores and thus it is future proof. As money is not an issue.

For most people who have an "unlimited" budget the Core i5-4670k will be fine. The 6 core socket 2011 Intel Core i7 CPUs are really powerful but with a starting price of around $500 - $600 and a mobo that cost at least $200, it is definitely not for gamers who like to count pennies.

Waste of money see following link for benchmarks against the i7-4770k in games. The only game that the 4930k beats the 4770k by a significant enough margin is CoH2. Otherwise those two CPUs tends to trade places. The 4930k will likely do better in Battlefield 4 multiplayer as well.

Other than that you can brag to your friends that you are gaming with a 6 core Intel CPU. Those who don't know any better will say "wow...", those who do know better will be either laughing at you or shaking their heads because you more or less wasted a lot of money if playing games is the only purpose for the CPU.

I would rather just buy the i7-4770k now and then upgrade to Skylake + compatible motherboard in 2016 once DDR4 RAM prices come down to earth. Going with the 4930k + motherboard is going to set you back around $900.
