Can a i3-4130 3.4ghz be able to run a GTX 760 graphics card

So I am going to be building my first PC and I want some good performance out of it, and I was wondering if the i3-4130 be able to run a gtx 760.

My Build:

i3-4130
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 760
650W PSU
4GB KINGSTON DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz
ASUS H81M-E MICRO ATX Motherboard

Yea it will, but it might bottleneck a tiny bit in CPU intensive games (not too much though). More games are using 4 or more cores nowadays so thankfully that i3 has two powerful cores, I'd also advise you get 4GB more of RAM as 8GB is the optimal amount for gaming nowadays

No harm will be done, it's just that the CPU is not fast enough to keep up with the GPU, which means the GPU will not perform to its full potential. Bottlenecks exist everywhere, its just a matter of how big it is, your motherboard socket has good upgradability options, so in the future you can pick up a Haswell i5 as an upgrade

For example, if you had a Core 2 Duo and a GTS 450 and replace that 450 with something like a 480 (the best single GPU of its era), you wouldn't see much improvement because the CPU is holding back the 480 and would perform only slightly better than the 450

Okay so I get bottlenecking now but say I wanted to run bf3 in ultra would thois work or would I have to play it on medium or high??

In your case BF3 Ultra shouldn't be a problem, that i3 performs close to some of AMD's six cores in certain applications

Okay Thank you very much, Should use tom's hardware more. So I will go with my build and when I get the money upgrade to a haswell i5.

So you haven't built it yet? might as well replace that i3 with an i5-4430/4440 or something, it's much better than spending $200 or so in the future in addition to that $120 i3, might as well hold off and get an i5 in one go

One more question, keeping the i3 with the gtx 760 would it perform better then the Radeon 7850 with a i3?

Yes, it will definitely perform better than the 7850

So if i have Intel core i3 2100 can i use this graphics, ik it'll be bottlenecked but its gonna run like Black Ops 2, Titanfall or Ghosts on 60 fps on medium details? Because my graphics cannot run ghosts on 60

Those games will be fine, the i3 2100+GTX 760 will have absolutely no problem with those games
