Hello. Boyfriend just bought himself a fancy new computer that I'm jealous of - he built it himself. He's built computers in the past. Anyways, we're having some issues getting it running. He has all the software, installed all the parts, but I have my suspicions on what might be wrong with it but he won't listen. <3

Anyways...

First off, the monitor isn't receiving a signal from the computer. We've used the different adaptors for it to no success. The computer lights show like they should, it beeps a few times when it's turned on, but there's no connection. It's an Asus (sp?) monitor. 23 inch I believe.

The graphics card is a GEFORCE GTX 770; nothing was bought cheaply per-se. The motherboard is a MAXIUMUS 6 FORMULA - when the computer is booted up, you can see through one of the clear sides of the case various numbers - 2, 46, 82, 99, etc. As well as AE (or AR?); in the motherboard's manual it's processing. He's attempted to try to get into the Bio or whatever it's called, but alas, the monitor isn't connecting!

Any ideas? Also, I don't know if this matters at all or might signify a power supply issue (he got a massive power supply with a **** ton of fans to keep everything cool), but the graphics card (this thing is massive as well) lights up blue, then dims, then lights up again. I don't know if it's supposed to be a pretty effect or what.

He also has an amazing RAM card. We've doublechecked to make sure everything is plugged into the right slots, etc. I just don't know what's going on.

Should the monitor be plugged into the video card slot in the back or something else?

Help. :|

This is the first time we've booted it up as well. The computer sounds and -looks- like it's running, but there's no connection. It doesn't just die or anything, it keeps running, but nothing shows on the screen.
