Does the ASUS Radeon R9 290X 4GB Graphics Card work on a Alienware x51r2 that has 8GB ram with 2TB HDD and a 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4770 processor?

You'll never fit it into a tiny Alienware X51. The card is just too darn big.

You, uhm... you realize that the card is probably thicker than the laptop, right? And that graphics cards in laptops are soldered to the motherboard and can't be replaced anyways?

That being said, the 290x will work in any computer that has a free pcie slot, room for the card, and a power supply that's got enough oomph to power it.

x51 is a laptop? GPU in x51 isn't soldered on.

I got it mistaken with one of their laptops - don't bother to pay too much attention to prebuilt models.

That being said, no need for a necro just for that on a solved question.
