Why is it that the price for my build always seems to go higher? I had a build for $877 that I was planning to buy for Christmas, but recently when I went to pcpartpicker my build's price had changed to $1000+. Now I'm not sure if I should just wait for the price to drop or make a new build in general. Would the prices drop as Christmas comes nearer?

Thanks ahead

The build you had was probably that cheap because it was utilizing certain specials and promotions. Now that they ended, you may want to revise your build to utilize the current promotions. As stated, prices fluctuate a lot within a couple of weeks. It's best to ask again a couple of days before you buy so you can utilize all of the sales.

But do these jumps get effected by holidays for example? Would it be best to buy now or later? Or would it not matter at all? Sorry I'm just confused as to why these prices change so drastically.

Things go on sale every now and then, you select a certain GPU it has a MIR and it disappears and so on. If you see something that has a great price compared to comparable hardware then it is a matter of jumping on it because most of the time it is a limited time offer.
As an example I bought a GPU the other day for $199 after MIR, the day after it got delivered it cost $179 after MIR for 2 days then jumped up to $239 after MIR where it sits now, all these prices are after the same $30 MIR offer code. Just that one component is a $60 price jump.
