Additional Ram 1600 to 1800

Good Day,

I was wondering if i could add an additional RAM and im currently using Corsair Ven. 2x4g 1600 i was planning of adding another 2x8 and it would be 1800.. would it be possible or not?

Recommended is you get the same kit you have installed in your machine, maybe the voltage from your ram is 1,65 the new ones is 1.5volts or less. you need look what kind of voltage your have. maybe work together. But i recomend u find the same kit.

ahh thank you for your reply. but i was wondering if their would be a conflict with the speeds?? like it wont function properly??

So its safe to install an additional ram of 1800.. and ill have 24g of RAM after that worry free?

You should always try to match your new sticks to your existing sticks though this is usually difficult. I would recommend buying a completely new set and get rid of the old ones via kijiji or save them for an old system build.
I had a set of OCZ (DDR2) sticks and though everything worked for a while (6 months) I was soon getting blue screens. Further tests revealed that the two new sticks had failed. Please note that the sticks nor my system was overclocked.
