XP HD won't boot after Data Move to Win 7

Removed HD from Dell Laptop (XP) and connected to Windows 7 laptop to move data. HD showed "offline" with a "signature" issue. I right clicked on Drive and clicked "Online". Open files fine. Put HD back into the old Dell Laptop and Hard Drive was not recognized at all... Error put in Install Disk... Drive was perfectly seated.

Take back to windows 7 system run command prompt - 'CHKDSK x: /f'.
    Where X is drive letter.

    Try again.
  2. I will.....want to make sure I have pulled all data off before I do that. Still curious as to what happened though. Never had this before when pulling a hard drive and moving data. Do you the why? And why checkdisk the x: dir

X is the drive letter that will be on your system for the drive as a representation.

Because I don't know if you have other devices in you computer.

If you only have one other hard drive it will most likely be E: or F: possibly D: if you don't have a ODD.

X like in algebra.. Find X replace it with its real value.
