I've been looking for information on whether or not an av drive such as WD30EURX can be used for additional performance and durability as a secondary storage drive in my build and out of curiosity as a primary bootable drive? What are the pros and cons?

They are not recommended for pc's at all. They are built primarily for sequential read/writes and do not do well in a pc due to the heavy random read/writes we do. Leave them for the security systems they were designed for.
