New Build not POSTing + no video output

I have just finished building my first PC build, it went rather well, apart from the fact that when I plugged in the PSU all of the lights and fans were on (so was my video card) but there was no video output let alone POST. I have checked all of the compatibility, even tried reinstalling my CPU. But with no avail, it still didn't work. I have checked that my 8 pin atx power is in (my motherboard (an ROG rampage IV formula X79) came with four of the pins with a cap over them, I removed it and plugged in a 4+4 atx 12v plug). I have tried running it with just one memory DIMM but with similar results.

If you think you could help I would be very grateful and will reply with my full spec list and more info.

Solution
It requires a newer BIOS version.
Check a barcode sticker on the motherboard. The last 4 digits on that sticker stand for the BIOS version.
Let's see if flashing the BIOS is needed.
