Hi quite simple question please.
I have an option for a new 15.6 laptop for about the same price both with 16MB RAM. only difference is the 770m (3GB) has I7 4700MQ and a 128 MSATA drive against the 680m (2GB) I7 3630QM and no MSATA drive. Looking for mostly covering off reasonable games Battlefield 4 Assassins Creed etc and with a 1920x1080 screen would like to use it at a decent level.
I am tempted for the 770m as it is a newer card?

They would perform similarly but i recommend the 770m because its newer and better in most ways

I own a 680m and I can tell you it kicks butt, The 770 has a 192bit interface vs the 256bit of the 680m.
When I overclock my gtx680m to 854mhz gpu and 2200mhz memory I get around 6900 plus 3dmark 11 at 720p.

The 770 scores around 5180dmark which is good considering that when not overclocked the
680m will still produce 5850 or so 3dmark, I think it's thanks to the larger memory bandwidth.

So don't always think because something is new that it's better, thanks to capitalism it's important
to reduce costs and make things cheaper and nastier.
The desktop 770 is a beast but not the mobile version.

Obviously it's too late for this user as he noobed and got the 770m but others can know that
the 680m is actually better even at stock speed and gets nearly 7000 3dmark 11 overclocked.
The processor was very expensive when first released and I"m pleased to say the quality shows
as the temperatures barely go up even when overclocked. Use nvidia inspector to do the overclock.
Even the new 780m is not much more powerful then the 680m, Once overclocked safely
the 680m is 500 points less then the 780m.

Thanks to ps4 and xbone we should not need higher 3dmarks for awhile until 4k resolutions become
standard.
