Hello all,
I am shopping for a GPU, and I have come across this:
PowerColor PCS+ AX7870 2GBD5-2DHPPV3E Radeon HD 7870 MYST. Edition (Tahiti LE) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (UEFI Ready)

After poking around the internet, a lot of people are saying this is the best graphics card for the price. Is this true? If not, what is? The absolute max I can spend right now is $200, so keep it within that budget. I want to use the card for gaming at 1080p on medium settings. Will this card be able to do that?
Thank you in advance!

Solution
It's true, it performs very close to a 7950 and at $160 after rebates it's an absolute beast in that price range. You'll be able to play games at ultra at 1080p with low or no AA

Cool! So this will definitely be the best card for me to get, correct?

OK, now, some of my friends are telling me to go with Nvidia because of some physics thing, will this make a big difference in gaming? If so, what is the Nvidia equivalent of the 7870?

PhysX isn't really worth going with to be honest, and it only works smoothly with higher end Nvidia GPUs, just makes some physics look nicer. The Nvidia equivalent of the 7870 would be a GTX 660, the equivalent of that 7870 XT (different from a regular 7870) would be a 660 Ti

I'll trust your judgement. The 660 Ti is way out of my price range, and if PhysX doesn't matter much, I think the 7870 XT is a safe bet :)

Honestly, I don't care for particles.
Now that I have made my decision, what is a good desktop step by step building guide/video for me to follow? Most of my parts come tomorrow, so I want to have something to reference while building.
