Hey, guys. I'm sorry but I'm totally new to this. I was just wondering if the MSI 760GM-P23 (FX) and Intel i7 3370k work together. I'm afraid I'll screw up, and I'd rather not.

If this is not the case, what CPU would you recommend (or should I buy a new motherboard)? I'm looking for a high-end one.

Thanks in advance. :)

Nope - that m/b is an AM3 and is for AMD processors, not Intel. You're going to need a new m/b.

Are you intending to build your rig? What will be the main purpose and what components do you already have.

What is your budget?

Okay. I'm going to use this for mainly streaming and playing videogames. What is the best possible CPU I could buy for this? My budget is around $300, and I already have a GPU (which is being bottlenecked by my current processor). Thanks.

The FX-6300 (HERE) is your best bet.

Your current board is pretty old tech and is going to be difficult to upgrade a great deal. You might want to consider going to a new m/b and cpu combo. With a $300 budget, you could get into an AMD 8320 and a good m/b.
