I have a Dell Inspiron 545 mini desktop tower, for which I need a power supply. The current power supply is a delta electronics PSU with 300w of power and has a dimension of 6" Wide X 3.5" Tall X 5.5" Deep. There is a little more space for the dept like instead of 5.5 the maximum I can have is 5.8 of dept and another 2 inches max for the height. That is all there is no more space for a bigger power supply.
Can I buy a good quality power supply within these dimensions with a 80 plus bronze or gold rating, modular cabling if possible and between the range of 360w to 450w. Is this possible. Please let me know as soon as possible as my current power supply is really running out of juice.

Thank You.

Specified dimensions 150 × 86 × 140 mm (5.9 × 3.4 × 5.5 in) are standard ATX size. However, majority of available PSU has more than 140mm in depth.
If you want modular 140mm PSU, then Silverstone ST50F-P, ST55-G are probably the best choice. If you want less wattage, check SFX PSUs from Silverstone (ST45SF(-G)). They ship with ATX bracket included.

The Silver stone site says the dimension for ST55F-G is 150 mm (W) x 86 mm (H) x 140 mm (D). But I went to amazon.com and there the dimension for ST55F-G is Size (LWH): 12.5 inches, 8 inches, 4 inches. Why is this so. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank You.

A good review:
http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/netzteile/2013/be-quiet-system-power-7-450-watt-im-test/

You asked about fully modular PSUs, that's why I suggested Silverstone. BQ system power 7 units are not modular. Other things I don't like about this series is the dual 12v rail design and lower efficiency than ST55-G (at least on paper, linked review confirms that it meets 80+ silver).

If you can fit non-modular 140mm deep PSU and can balance the load between two rails, then System Power 7 series is worth considering. In this case, also have a look at Enermax Naxn series.

Personally I don't like Be Quiet PSUs. Two of them - Straightpower and dark power pro failed on me just after their warranties. Thus, I don't recommend them to anyone.

I was reading through the review of ST55F-G on jonnyguru.com till I reached the dis-assembly page where the filtering stage was displayed. The components are not named over there. So to make sure can you please go to this link http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=328 and check if the ST55F-G has a metal oxide varistor or MOV also the color of the MOV please, whether it has 2 ferrite coils for the transcent filtering stage and how many transformers does the ST55F-G have. Please let me know as soon as possible.

Thank You.

Yes, it has a MOV. It's yellow, next to the coil under X capacitor (green). It has one ferrite coil in the transient filtering stage. All this can be seen in the 5th image.

In all the images, I can see two transformers: main (bigger one) and +5VSB (smaller one). Possibly there are some optocouplers somewhere on the board, serving as isolators, instead of the third transformer.
