Hello everyone,
I am currently living in Thailand and I'm looking into building a new gaming PC. I have to buy everything (pc, screen, windows license) and would like your advice.
My total budget will be around 800$-1000$, but I'd rather not max my budget unless it gives a dramatic improvement.

I decided to go microATX as I will have to move around and it should be more convenient, and will probably buy the cooler master n200 case as it seems nice (and I definitely need to start making actual choices after hours of browsing for parts :)

After reading different posts and reviews, I decided picking an FX 6300 cpu (http://www.computeandmore.com/productlist.php?id=2563) as it seems to be the most cost effective for gaming but I'm afraid I will have overheating issues because:
- I am using a micro ATX case
- the temp in my room is generally around 27-30°C
- this cpu is made for oc

I am starting to wonder if picking the cheapest intel i5 I can find (i5 4440 http://www.computeandmore.com/productlist.php?id=3106 ) would be a more convenient solution and would sensibly decrease heating issues.

So my question is, should I go for the FX 6300 or the i5 ?

Thanks !

Thanks for the answer. I've just looked into it but this CPU seems to be much harder to find and more expensive while being less powerful.
Out of curiosity, do you use your build for intensive gaming ? What kind of cooling are you using ?

In the UK the 3330S was the cheapest i5.

Yes, it's in my main gaming PC. It works perfectly, even though it's the slowest i5 processor, any i5 is plenty powerful enough to play any and all current games.

I have the Antec Kuhler 620 closed loop water cooler in a Silverstone Sugo SG05 case. The fan runs at 900RPM so it is silent and my temperatures top out at around 58 degrees. My ambient temperatures are around 20 degrees though, it's much cooler here in the UK!
