I need to vomit over Bill Gates and his team of cretins.

200 hours and I am unable to connect my new build PC to the net on a fresh install of W8 Pro.

PC is a new i7 4770 Z87 Sabertooth 16Gb rig setup with HD7770 Crossfire, that worked with Windows 8.1 preview until I put in my new W8 Pro code; but after installing my unused copy of Windows 8 Pro on a fresh install keeping Windows.old, (because the W8 pro will not upgrade that way [causing me hundreds of hours of work ahead]); the PC gives the internet the middle finger.

Its been activated; but nothing on the connection to the net seems to exist.

I have a High-speed Buffalo router (works wireless) and a 50Mb/p/s NTT Cable connection.

It doesnt work either with direct plug in connection nor from my Wireless dongle I usually have in my XP computer net to it (Which WORKS) (here) on the net.

I guess I am not looking for a fix; but just here to confirm that Windows 8 is an unreliable pile of camel dung and the Microsoft team might benefit from having goats urinate on them for a week in a pit full of scorpions.

Yes; I know there could be a number of possibilities; but all I did was install windows 8 pro over windows 8.1 preview (as the pigsuckers will not let you use a Windows 8 pro key to update from windows 8.1 preview); and on the 8.1 preview it all worked fine.

Why would it all work fine on preview and nothing changes and all I do is install W8 pro FRESH CLEAN INSTALL from disc and it all goes pear shaped.

Its not logical.

Also, if you have to, to get around the update issue, download windows 7 iso from digital river, install with a key, then update to 8 right away. Sounds like it could be an issue of trying to go down from 8.1 to an "upgrade" of 8.

Also the reason I always buy a full version and never and update version. 3 years down the road when I want to reinstall, I don't want to have to install another OS just to install my OS. Update versions are stupid. lol.

That kind of makes sense; because my Z87 mo-bo was sold after Windows 8 pro was designed, but before windows 8.1 was brought into existence.

Wait a minute; I already installed all the mother board updates when I had Win 8.1 preview; so I ask
@Do I need to re-install the mother board updates@ or are they still there from last time; as I am unsure if they go to the effin mo-bo BIOS or to Windows somewhere in some part). Millions of people dont know.

Furthermore; how do microcr@p expect people with only one computer to do that (download updates for a motherboard that will not connect to the internet)?

Yes; I personally have my second, third and fourth PC all happily connecting to the net; but MS should think about PRACTICALITIES for millions of customers.

You should be able to install the motherboard drivers from the CD that came with it. The drivers install on an OS level not a bios level so you would need to reinstall drivers when you went from 8.1 to 8.

Hot diggity.

Installing it all now dude.

And I thought the CD software automatically got glued in the motherboard months ago.

Seriously; earlier on this evening, I thought my heart was going to explode, as the tension was so powerful in my chest at not being able to figure it out.

I had to have 3 asprin and two glasses of wine to try n' stay calm.

lol well I hope that solves all the issues your having with the network, now you can look forward to all the lovely Microsoft updates they will push your way.

Did what you said; and I really thought the drivers stayed on the Mo-bo somewhere in a chip or something.

Tonights Net is like 4ms ping, 70.57Mbps Download and 40.28 Mbps Upload.

Thanks burdenbound, happy riding.

I still want to do the squits over Bill Gates smug look.
