I'm looking to get a new graphics card but i can't decide what to get so i would like some un bias advise if possible. I have been looking at an overclocked GTX780 but yesterday decided to go with the 290X because it is cheaper and today nvidia reduced the prices of the 780's so the card i was looking at is now £400 which is slightly less than the 290X. I have looked at benchamrks and reviews but they all seem to say different things. Some videos have said the 780 is better and others have said that the 290x is better. If i was to get a 290x i would wait for non reference.

That is the card i was looking at, it is the fastest factory overclocked 780 that i could find and is one of the cheapest i could find. Do you think i should get that or wait and get a non reference 290x? I don't think i will have that 780ti because it will most likely be a lot more than these two cards but if you think i should and can convince me that it could be the best option the please give your reasons. BTW i will be using a 1080p monitor with a refresh rate of 144hz.
Thanks for any help

Do you think that mantle will make much of a performance difference and do you think that the 290X non reference cards will be more because i have noticed that with the gtx 780 there are a few that seem to be slightly less.

non reference cards will mostlikely be more expensive, also u have to consider, that the uber modus of the r9 290x is really noisy, stupidly noisy.
therefore getting 7% more performance, well idk.
also u might wait for the 780 ti

it is good, but if it is worth the money is the other question ;'D
as the 780 ti shall be the answer to the r9 290x it will be really good

Ok thanks for the help, when the 780 ti comes out dependant on the price i will consider that but i think it will most likely be how mantle affects the 290x and then deciding between non reference 290x or non reference 780
