Graphics upgrade on small form factor

So I bought a computer with a micro atx form factor. I needed something quickly as my previous computer black screened during mid-term.

I was planning a first build, but settled on this Asus in a pinch for the i5 and what I assumed was a replaceable graphics card (Radeon HD 7470):

The problem is, there's not a lot of room on this motherboard, which is an Intel H61. The graphics card is very thin and short. I'm wondering if I can even replace it with anything bigger - I really want the gtx 660 Ti for video editing and average gaming. I did some measurements but I'm not sure about covering up pci-e ports and the chipset with this large gpu. Wouldn't heat be a problem? It looks like I might be stuck with the 7470.

Can anyone help??? thanks

You can get the smaller ASUS GTX 760 DirectCU II or DirectCU II mini, they should fit, that PSU should have no problems with them too

It's hard to tell the width of your case but it seems the ATX PSU should be able to fit and that's usually wider than a GPU as well

I hadn't seen the mini yet - thanks loads for suggesting it! I'll try the ATX and see what happens.

The only other thing if you don't mind is heat - since the case is pretty small I'm worried there won't be enough ventilation/cooling after adding the GPU. But the ASUS cards are good and I've read they stay cool.

Would you recommend some extra cooling after adding 600W PSU, GTX 760 (mini probably) and 8 GB ram (not sure if ram makes a difference).

thanks again

Depends if you have any additional 3 or 4 pin fan headers to plug into, a rear case fan blowing air out the back would be helpful (80mm or 120mm depending on the size factor of your case, you'd have to check that yourself). The mini actually runs cooler than many other 760s (at around 72 degrees at stock), probably due to a smaller factory overclock

I'm going with the gtx 670 mini (the 760 isn't available yet). This will fit great in my micro-atx, and from what I've read it's cooling solutions are designed for small form factor, so it's the perfect choice! We'll see how it all works out.
