Will this setup do very well on BF4? What do you think as far as settings and FPS go? None of it is OC…Thanks

CPU: Intel i5 4670k @ 3.4Ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 660 w/ 2 GB of ram
RAM: 8gb of DDR3

Mine played fine last night running on high settings/1080p, but didn't check all the settings. It rarely went under 40 FPS. I have little doubt yours will be fine, but make sure your system resources and background clutter is cleaned up.

HD6970 (outdated drivers; no AMD support for Vista since April)
Vista 64, going to test with Windows 8.1 Pro

I'm going for a new build, but am waiting for results from multiple users to get a better idea of what I really need. Thus far a high end system isn't necessary for an enjoyable gaming experience. The Beta run IMO put out false impressions and really was a waste of time using as a benchmark.

Also, my son's HP DV6 laptop (i7 3630 cpu and 650m video card) could barely play the Beta and...

This build will do pretty good on High setting and 1080p. Like you see on here on the beta performance test (considering it was beta and optimizations will be done in the final product) you will get good frames on your current setup. If it gives you hard time, which I doubt it, you can set the game to Medium and still look good.

Alright thank you very much for the info! I might have to just go buy it and have some fun. Was hoping to test on Beta but didn't have it built in time.

Hope that helps.

The Beta version was so far removed from the final release, I don't know what the devs were thinking. It's almost as if they were coaxing pc/cpu/video card sales by making the beta version run crappy.

Yes, Vista 64bit. I built the system in early 2009. The only upgrade since was the video card to a HD6970 which got me through BF3 nicely. Although BF4 supports Vista, if using a AMD/ATI video card, there is no new driver support for them.

Well, I have both on different machines, but Vista is on the gaming box. Heck, I still have Windows 98 on a few boxes; never did get Millennium which had to be the worst OS of all time.

Recall in 2009 Windows 7 was going through "growing pains", and Vista was stable and has been for nearly 5 years on this well used machine.

Sources tell me Windows 8 Pro works excellent with BF4, outperforming 7, so we'll see. I'm dual booting, and if it looks good, will do a clean install; never did care too much for "upgrades". Besides, 5 years of using up 1 TB hdd space of which is probably 75% stuff I'll likely never use or miss if it's gone lets me clean the slate. :)

i've tried windows 8 and HATED IT, in my OPINION, its mainly aimed at touchscreen users. dragging and dropping and needless sliding. you will have carpal tunnel syndrome in an hour. lol... it was installed on my gaming laptop, and i just went back to windows 7 64. but hey, to each his own! =)

The Battlefield 4 system requirements will be similar to those of BF3

The minimum PC system requirements for Battlefield 4 are expected to be:

Dual core CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD “Bulldozer”).
At least 4 GB main system memory
Graphics card with at least 512 MB of VRAM and support for DirectX 10
30+ GB of harddrive space
Windows Vista

according to this your system is stable to play this game
