Okay - I bought a VIZIO e291-a1 29” Class Razor LED TV to use as my monitor so I could run 1920x1080 and have more screen room. My old graphics card didn't have an HDMI port on it, so I went and purchased an ASUS GeForce 8400GS which has an HDMI port.

I put the card in, installed drivers, etc, and it let me go to 1920x1080, but it's blurry, very blurry. I then went into the display settings and updated the driver to a newer version, rebooted and still having the same problem. I have a few HD movies on this computer and if I play one of those movies, it's crystal clear, but when I'm just using my PC for whatever, it's really, really blurry.

What can I do to fix this? Cleartype is turned on (I tried turning it off, and it was worse) - Thanks for any help!!! It's much appreciated!

I mean, everything is the proper size, etc.. no stretching or anything.. Everything is just blurry.. Resolution is set to 1920x1080, the Hz is set to 60, I reset my monitor back to factory settings, used the drivers that came with the card, updated the drivers to a newer version.. nothing seems to be working. And this is a brand new video card that I just purchased today.

And I want to add that if I switch the resolution to the 1360x768, everything is clear. But when I switch to 1920x1080, that's when the text and everything is blurry. What is causing this? At this point, I have tried 2 different drivers. The ones that came with the video card and a newer version that was available. I'm going crazy. Someone pleeease help! :(

Hello blakeaf96, I hope you have figured out your video resolution problem by now. If not it is a pretty simple one. I have the Visio E291-A1 and it only has a max recommended resolution of 1360 x 768. This is due mostly to the physical size of the Pixels. This monitor pixel size is .462 x .462 mm. and as you can see from the chart located here http://lcdtech.info/en/data/pixel.size.htm this pixel size will not display True HD. While the display will LET you change the resolution to 1920x1080, you won't see very clear computer screens since the TV would need to have .27 x .27 mm pixels. The reason that Movies look so good is that you don't notice the pixel size as much with images, since the pixels that border each other will compensate in color and tint and contrast. The reason computer screen content is blurry is because of lot of that video content is only 1 or 2 pixels wide at times and the bordering pixels can't compensate.
