Hot-Swap or Hot-Plug VGA Monitor with MiniDP Adapter

I want to set up an additional VGA monitor, and I read that there are concerns (warranted or otherwise) about hot-plugging VGA monitors. In contrast, I read that MiniDP IS totally safe to hot-plug.

So, what if the VGA connections remain connected at all times, and only the MiniDP connector is moved about, unplugged, replugged, plugged into different MiniDP ports, etc?

Is it safe to hot-plug or hot-swap VGA and/or DVI monitors if they connect to the GPU's MiniDP ports through a MiniDP adaptor?

Solution
You can hotswap vga and dvi or any monitor safely. The pins on the vga and dvi are just not going to withstand the changing as well. If you are going to change it so much, a kvm switch would be less hassle.

Okay, so it is safe, and I even minimize wear on the VGA pins by using a MiniDP adapter and leaving the VGA connected to that adapter at all times.

Thank you.
