I just got a Crosshair V Formula Z board. I bought the Kingston memory on the QVL for 16GB (4x4GB) @ PC2400. It maxes out @ 1333. If this is on the QVL this shouldn't be a problem right? What am I missing here?

*EDIT*
Almost forgot

Kingston HyperX 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 Desktop Memory XMP Model KHX24C11K4/16X
ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz
GIGABYTE GV-R928XOC-3GD Radeon R9 280X

Solution
Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. The ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z has the ASUS memory profile selector, so you may be able to select the XMP memory profile for the DDR3-2400 speed. The BIOS has the "Extreme Tweaker" menu that has all the settings that need to be changed. The setting "Load Extreme Memory Profile" should have the 2 profiles listed 1. DDR3-2400 and 2. DDR3-2133. If profile cannot be selected, make sure that option is set to "Yes" and "Ai Overclock Tuner" changed to [Manual]. Set "Memory Frequency" to [DDR3-2400MHz] and then the timings would need to be changed in the "DRAM Timing Controls" menu in the BIOS. Under timings the first three numbers listed need to be changed to...

I understand I need to OC, that's why I got the parts I did. Just not sure what settings I need to input in the BIOS. This is my first real OC attempt, any input/resources would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention that I have:
HAF 932 Full tower
Coolermaster V10 CPU/Mem cooler

Heat dissipation should not be an issue

Under timings the first three numbers listed need to be changed to 11-13-13, all other numbers should be left as is. Then the memory voltage listed as "DRAM Voltage" should be upped to 1.65V. Also, from my experienced with the Extreme Tweaker the setting "Extreme OV" needs to be enabled to allow the other memory settings to work properly. No other settings need to be changed. I have had multiple calls with this motherboard with lesser CPUs that only supported 1600MHz overclocked to 2133MHz, so it is likely that since your CPU supports up to 1866MHz that it can run at 2400MHz. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you. Please be sure to have the part in question on hand when you call.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

Jewel,
I have never been particularly concerned with brand when I purchase memory. Until today. Your solution worked, and you were clear, concise, and to the point. Congrats Kingston, you just won some brand loyalty today.
