I have a homebuild HTPC with an ASUS E35M1-M PRO Fusion AMD E-350 APU (1.6GHz, Dual-Core) AMD Hudson M1 Micro ATX Motherboard/CPU Combo and HD video playback is pretty poor. Would purchasing video card instead of using the integrated graphics help?

Absolutely. Not only would the graphics card assist in video playback, it would also alleviate any stress playing HD graphics would have on your APU.

thanks for the quick response!!!

do you have any recommended cards?

What is a good card that isnt going to draw a ton of power, but can playback 1080p video with ease?

Radeon HD64540 or Geforce GT630 would work.

Maybe , but probably not

That processor should play back 1080p video just fine .

What operating system are you using ? What software are you using to play back the video? What is the full hardware spec of this computer ?

Try a fresh install of windows , and make sure all your drivers are up to date .
720p content should be very easy for your system .

ok, ill try that. I am interested in either the Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 or 7750 that are fanless, but they require a 400w power supply. Might just buy a new machine or Mac mini...
