Modem and router questions

i have a adsl modem with wifi at 300 speed...
http://www.netgear.com/home/products/wirelessrouters/work-and-play/DGN2200.aspx

can i buy a better(much better) high speed router like this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320091

and somehow network it to my adsl modem and use its wifi to connect to internet instead?

the signal is terrible and slow. and there arnt any better adsl modems out there.

(also if there are better suggestions on router please suggest using for home media and such)

thanks

That ASUS is a great router (IMO the best N router available), and I agree that you should use it as your router and just use the Netgear as your modem.
