I had a mouse like this before http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104321 but always found myself hitting the back key while surfing the web. Which made me switch back to a simple mouse so I didn't keep doing it. I would like to get a gaming mouse but don't want to be pressing random buttons while surfing the web. Does anyone have any insight as to prevent this or was it just the mouse I was using? or was it me just me not used to the mouse?
Any insight or even suggestions for mice would be great.
Thanks

Solution
it could be a few factors:

-logitech aux mouse buttons being too easy to press or are in a bad location
-you not being used to the extra buttons and pushing them accidentally
-your mouse grip style is not suited for that particular mouse design

i've used a similar mouse for years (the old logitech mx1000) and i never had any such issues. extra buttons takes a bit of getting used to.

-------

as far as a product which may work to allieviate the issue and still be a decent gaming mouse?

i would say a razer deathadder.

its fairly simple (2 extra buttons only) and they have enough resistance to not get clicked accidentally. the design also allows for picking up of the mouse with the fingers without clicking any buttons accidentally...

If you like the mouse, and just happen to hit the buttons on the side on accident or due to laziness while browsing, you could simply change the default behavior of those buttons. In the LGS software, you can find your default profile and remove the macros from those keys, then you wouldn't do it by accident.
