Which GTX 780 should I get? I don't plan to OC, and would like the best performance for 1080p gaming. Cooling and low noise levels are key, but not at the expense of performance. Which of the 4 is king?

MSI Gaming Twin Frozr
MSI Gaming Lightning
Asus OC
EVGA w/ ACX Cooler

MSI's Gtx 780 Lightning is the best Gtx 780 out there , but u said u will not OC , so i think Asus Gtx 780 DirectCUII or EVGA gtx 780 ACX will be good .

I recommend you to wait because Nvida will release Gtx 780 Ti in November . So the price of gtx 780 will be like $500 and new Gtx 780 Ti will be $700 .

Hope my answer help you .

That must be some comfy rock you've been living under. The price of the GTX 780 is already $500, and has been for a couple days now.

The lightning looks like its geared for OC'ing so I'll scratch that one off the list

Its between the MSI Twin Frozr and the Asus one.

The EVGA ACX one looks solid - but comes with about 8-9 measures of db of sound.

Then Asus Gtx 780 DirectCUII is the way to go

I'm in this sort of predicament too. Which of these cards should I go with? I'll be gaming at 1600x900.

ASUS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121779
EVGA SC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130917
EVGA ACX Cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130918

It's between these 3 cards, unless there is something better.

EDIT: Is it wise to wait for even further price drops? I feel like these are going to sell out in the next couple weeks. :/

Your thoughts on the GHZ edition coming out? Apparently it's supposed to perform better and is cheaper.

Are you talking about the 780 'TI' version? GHz is the add on nomenclature that AMD adds to some of their cards. Yes will be more powerful, should show on the lower side of the 780, and will be priced up around where the 780 was before the price breaks just released

I think it's being released side by side with the TI. And I think I misread that it was cheaper.

Here the article: http://videocardz.com/47420/nvidia-updates-geforce-gtx-780-ghz-edition

So just go with the ASUS then?

ASUS one runs very cool and very quiet. If you decide to OC later on, it has better OC potential than the EVGA SC ACX. It a bit slower than the EVGA SC ACX at stock speeds though. I don't know why you wouldn't overclock it though... it is fairly easy and won't hurt the card or increase noise by much because the ASUS design is fantastic.

Had heard rumors, but for me that article is dated tomorrow, which will be today for me in another hour or so, thanks for the link

And yes I'd go Asus

EVGA for their cooling & great warranty service, but depends where you stay. msi are known to have factory overclocked cards & good cooling too. asus is equally good with their DCII cooling but watch for their massive size.

I would say (now) GET THE `MSI LIGHTNING`.
I had the chance to look at the MSI internal gubbins :p recently...AFTER I had eyes on the ASUS...., due to its QUALITY COMPONENTS for a long work & gaming life.
But, due to a somewhat slightly lower price (and the fact that I prefer reliability and stability to outright speed), I had put the ASUS 780 in my shopping basket at Amazon.jp just the other day; :bounce: However, I read about the NVidia GTX Card Price DROPs that afternoon while looking at a wireless headset (Zx Evo), while browsing; so I hung on till this morning, for the price drop for GTX cards; to be able to afford more towards the headset (for BF4).... :wahoo:
BUT
The card has been priced at about $740 USD, and I thought it would go down to $640... ish
BUT
AMAZON.jp decided to JACK-UP the price to around $860 per card. :ouch:
Or more...
http://www.amazon.co.jp/ASUSTek%E7%A4%BE%E8%A3%BD-NVIDIA-GeForce-GPU%E6%90%AD%E8%BC%89%E3%83%93%E3%83%87%E3%82%AA%E3%82%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89-GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5/dp/B00DQ5E8DQ/ref=sr_1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1383217864&sr=1-6
Only $920 USD for the ASUS now.
I could cry if it wasnt for the GTX 780 Ti and others around the next week or so... but I need to pull the trigger soon, I have an ASUS VG278H 3D monitor sitting on my Z87 Sabertooth desktop.

P.S.
That is an AMAZON $120+ USD PRICE HIKE. (Update) that is now a $180 USD price hike all in one day. :ouch: :pt1cable: :ouch:

I would say; "Get the lightning; it has incredible guts". The SS of GTX graphics cards.

P.S.
Does anyone know which affordable store delivers GTX Graphics cards to Japan (non-military address)?
Even at $50 postage, its still better than paying crazy local prices.
