I listed them in order of quality. I would get the HX. It's 80 Plus Gold certified and modular.

The TX is a fine unit. I am running a 750TX but it's an old first generation one from 2007. Back then 80 Plus Bronze was the norm. Now it's 80 Plus Gold. Gold and Bronze are only measures of efficiency though and not quality. The TX is still a great unit. I will never buy another non modular power supply though. The one thing I hate about mine is the huge mess of cables.

Glad to help! :)

thanks for adding the modular part, i guess i will just save up for HX since iam not in much rush.
I hope 650w would be enough to run GTX 760, wont be running multi GPU on current PC

An SSD uses .....wait for it.....up to 5 watts all by itself! Although that is on the high end and most use a max of about 3 watts. A mechanical hard drive can use 8 - 10 watts.

So no need to go with a more powerful power supply because you are adding storage unless you are adding like 10 hard drives. Then you might want to go with 550-600 watts.

Even then the 500w number on the list I posted has some overhead built into it. So you can safely overclock with 500 watts. You are not going to hurt anything by going with 650w but if you can save some money you might as well.

Yep, you are all good. Cases, power supplies and even motherboards are built to a standard called ATX that ensures compatibility.

No harm in getting a power supply that is more than you need. I have done it for years. I have a 750TX as I said above and I got it so I could add a second graphics card but I never did. So I really only need a 500w unit myself. All I hurt was my wallet! You will have room to upgrade in the future too.

Edit: You are just getting an i5 2500 right? Not a 2500K? You will not be able to overclock with that board. In fact if you get a P67, Z68, Z75 or Z77 motherboard you can overclock even a non K i5 2500 up to 4 bins or 400Mhz over stock via Turbo Boost. It's up to you if the extra cost for one of those boards is worth the mild overclock. An overclock that small could even be done with stock cooling though so you would not have to spend extra on a CPU cooler.

Edit 2: I just read again and you already have the CPU and board I think so never mind the above.
