Restricting user from saving files in C drive

Our lab systems have domain login as well as local user login.I dont want my students to save any files & modify folders .What can I do for this?

Change Permissions for the users if they belong to a particular group. If they don't then you'll need to define a group that the students use and then define the permissions for them.

Or..... restrict every user from doing so on all the machines and have just one big shared HDD (2 or a few 2TB's ) put together on the network as a shared resource.

Steady State, run on XP and is free. http://download.cnet.com/Windows-SteadyState/3000-18512...

Reboot, everything is back to how it was.

You can also use group policy to block local disk access, but that does not normally prevent anyone from saving stuff to their own user folders. Steady State would, it just ignores anything that gets saved or installed after it's setup.
