Recently when trying to switch on my pc it wouldn't switch on, so i gave it a nice bump and it started up as usual. Though a few days later while installing a new hdd i found a burn mark on the mobo where the power and reset button connectors go. the plastic from the connectors were burnt and stuck to the mobo. The pc still switches on and work like normal though when it doesnt want to switch on its because the burnt power connectors are a bit loose and just need to be readjusted. heres a pic https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B06JqCSzWrLBaDZHRXZSeXQtck0/edit?usp=sharing

Solution
That isnt the front panel (power, reset switch), thats a USB plug in. I wouldnt turn that PC on again til I replaced the motherboard, but thats me. That isnt good no matter what how many times it powers up with no problem.

Hi, isnt the one next to it is the front usb connectors, the one that is connected in the pic seems like power connectors, but then again the power connectors are the smaller red and blue wires, which baffles me because it wont switch on unless the burnt wire is shaken a bit, i refrain from using it all because i dont want my other components to burn

There are usually 2 USB connector points in that general area on a motherboard. It may only turn on when you bump it cause its fried through out that area. That is a symptom of a much larger problem id think. Faulty PSU, bad wiring in your house, something.

My rig is quite old and im planning on buying new parts at the end of this year. The wiring is fine, though psu could be the problem, so no using it at all?
