can a SATA III HDD be connected to SATA II mobo?

so can a sata 3 hdd (6gb/s) be connected to a sata 2 (3gb/s) motherboard?or i will need to buy something?
HDD:WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB CAVIAR BLUE
MOBO:ASROCK H61M-VG4

    yes it will work fine, just at a lower speed. In reality, most drives don't max out the SATA 2 anyways.
