Hi,

I am building a new PC for my dads business and he is on quite a tight budget. The computer will be mainly used for medium office work. The applications that will be most used are the Microsoft Office programs, Excel and Word mostly, Outlook and the internet (chrome). I want the computers to last and to be relativity fast in the applications that will be used. This is what i have come up with so far.

CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor (£83.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: Asus H81M-A Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£42.99 @ Ebuyer)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£31.00 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Toshiba 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£37.87 @ Aria PC)
Wireless Network Adapter: Asus USB-N10 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 Wi-Fi Adapter (£9.49 @ CCL Computers)
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case (£29.99 @ Ebuyer)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 430W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply (£37.15 @ Amazon UK)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer (£12.99 @ Amazon UK)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit) (£69.90 @ Ebuyer)
Monitor: ViewSonic VA2037A-LED 20.0" Monitor (£81.54 @ Dabs)
Total: £436.91

I have chosen a micro ATX board so the computer is more convenient to have in the office environment. However, i don't have much experience with Micro ATX boards, so was wondering if the smaller size affects its performance and reliability? I'm not worried about the fewer PCi slots in the Micro board as I feel the computer will be fine with the integrated graphics considering the sort of work it will be doing.
I was also wondering how good the i3 processor is and how well it will handle the work that will be done on the computer and how long its likely to last.
The budget for the build is no more that £450.
Any opinions, suggestions and advice on any of the components, will be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

I would suggest replacing the i3 for either an AMD APU, you can pick them up for about £30, or an Intel Celeron cpu coming in at the same price, if you go with the intel option, i suggest getting the Intel Celeron G1610 and buying the MSI H61M-P20-G3 for the motherboard. If you go with the AMD option i suggest getting the AMD a4 3300 and getting the ASRock A55M-DGS for the motherboard ;3
