Hey guys, ive been reading forums on this site for as long as I can remember, and more so lately as I just built my first rig since I was a teen. I got a great bundle deal from new egg that saved me $200 for very comparable parts I had picked myself.
I'd like to know what to expect gaming wise from this build, and im done with budget now but some tips on what to upgrade or add next when I have the cash flow would be appreciated.
I'd be playing First Person Shooters like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Borderlands. I also use this as my livingroom media center, have it hooked up to my 65" led, and we stream Netflix and hulu (ditched cable a year or so back), and I have about 3 tb worth of ripped dvd/blurays saved on an few externals. I use my laptop for AutoCAD and Solid Works but im sure I will end up installing and using that on this rig as well.

Rosewill REDBONE case (not what I wanted but for bundle price I get it)
Amd Fx-8350
Asus M5A97 motherboard (has overclocking software and sli/crossfire support)
XFX Radeon HD 7870 Boost OC Edition 3gb ddr5
Rosewill 700W psu (sli/crossfire ready)
Samsung dvd burner
Corsair 8gb ddr3 1888 ram
Seagate barracuda 1tb 7200
Corsair hydro H90
*total bundled price came to $750 plus $145 coming back in rebates
I added windows 8, wireless mouse/keyboard, xbox controller, power cable, and an additional 120mm fan

I wanted a i5 new haswell k series but otherwise every other component was almost identical except intel board vs amd and such. and the graphics I had chosen were the 650 ti boost, but even shopping for sale and rebate items my almost identical build came to $915 after rebates.

Again thanks to any who look and greater thanks ahead of time for any of your input.

I think you can expect a lot, you have good components and the 7870 should be great for you. If anything I would keep an eye out for a SSD, they can be easy had for $80 now and if you wait until Black Friday you should be able to get one for around $65-70 (for a good 128 GB SSD).

Yes thought the same thing, i figured the only thing holding back performance would be hhd as well. Anything else upgrade wise would improve performance but best buy local store doesnt have any on sale in stock. Dont really want to spend $130 on a 128gb, but i would really like to have it by tommarrow when i expect the final components to be shipped. That would save me the hastle of transfering data if i could just install to it. Im going to try and milk the empty cow and hope to get enough for a ssd now.

As i posted in my reply above i expect to recieve final components tom, well the case everything else should show up today. Is or are there any quick tips or worthwhile changes or words of advice on my build or the building process? Also ive read several forms that with my cpu and water cooler, i should apply paste like grain on sand style, but after build is complete i should run a benchmark program to stress my unit for 10 hours to 'cure' the thermal paste. I can see how that makes sense, but is it necessary and if so for 10 hours just seems like alot, and what software program should i use? Im new to this, ive seen sandra used in some videos but dont know how to use or if theres a good free one to use. I would really like to have a good benchmark program as well to boost my self esteem after spending so much.
