I have a motorola sbg6580 modem, and a netgear rwn3000rp extender, I would like to use to boost the signal thru the house. But when the extender connect it , it creates another network _ext and will not allow me to use my wireless printers ect.

Solution
Are you able to access the device configuration pages by using a nearby wireless laptop and entering www.mywifiext.net
in the browser (user: admin pw: password).

Note that you may need to look into your wireless system tray icon to select the netgear created network and connect first.

You will need to attach a wired computer to the extender and set it up as an extender for the existing network as described in your manual. One step is insuring that DHCP is turned off in the Netgear so that it will not create a separate subnet.

Is THIS your extender?
