I am seriously considering upgrading from sli 580s to A single 290x but I have some concerns as my motherboard is only PCI 2.0. my motherboard is 2-3 years old which i got with my alienware and i am not sure what it is but it runs a i7 980x.
Is this a serious issue or is it only minor? I have heard there is a decrease in performance due to it being made for PCI 3.0 but is it a massive decrease and still worth the purchase?
